MBA Seminar - the true benefits of holding an MBA
On the 17th of May highly motivated members met up at The Sherlock Holmes Hotel to get inspiration on what it means to take an MBA and the opportunities following graduation.
Although having complete different backgrounds and motivations to follow an MBA programme all four graduates agreed that the effort and cost of earning an MBA was all worth it.
The panel consisting of four MBA graduates, all from four of the top universities, answered all sorts of questions covering how to meet the admissions criteria to personal development during the programme. The panel consisted of:
- Amanda Tonsgaard, Principal at Langholm Capital - Camilla Deichmann, Director of Evita Peroni - Lars Kroijer, Founder of Holte Capital - Thomas Horsman, Director of Heptagon Capital, |

"I want to take this opportunity to officially congratulate you and your team on the excellent event I have attended with my colleague Oliver Norris and Pierre Bridel, who was there on behalf of Buckingham University. It was very nice to hear that almost everyone spoke the language of the soil and at last we really talked about business and culture. It is nice to see that people really enjoyed attending a meeting of this quality"
Dr Thierry R Dorfsman. |
"Just a short note to mention the May 17th event was great work by the Chamber!! - I, as a member and an individual, learnt immensely from the talk! So, congratulations and I hope to attend such useful events in the year ahead!".

Joint Nordic Junior Event - Networking @ M1NT
On Wednesday the 14th of June 2006 the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce hosted a Joint Nordic Junior Event where Birgitte Vosper from Purple Chair Events, a London based event management company, introduced a new way of networking called "speednetworking".
The event took place at the exclusive members-only club M1NT in Knightsbridge and close to 70 people participated in the event. The speednetworking proved to be great fun and an inspiring way to get new business contacts.
Before the speednetworking session started Birgitte Vosper and her business partner Duncan Richardson from JDI, a marketing company, gave some helpful hints on how to network successfully. |

Dear Members
Welcome to our summer issue of the DUCC Red Letter, which I am sure you will find to be of interest before you head off to your summer retreats.
First of all on Thursday the 13th of July 2006 we have planned a Grand Summer Cocktail Party on the outdoor terrace of the Royal Danish Embassy. The event will be a great opportunity to meet fellow members of the Chamber and enjoy a delicious summer buffet and drinks.
The last of our popular monthly Nordic Thursday Drinks before a summer break will take place on the 29th of June 2006. This time the drinks night will be on the patio of the Radisson SAS Portman Hotel where Pimm's, strawberries and canaés will be served. I hope to see as many of you as possible as these events truly are a great way to get new business contacts. The next Nordic Thursday Drinks will be on the 29th of September 2006. On the 8th of September 2006 we are proud to co-host with Royal Academy of Engineering and the Nordic Chambers of Commerce a Conference called: "A balanced Approach to Energy - The Nordic Experience" at the Royal Society. There will be a very distinguished group of speakers, including high-caliber experts from the Nordic countries and the UK. The conference will highlight the experience of the Nordic countries in the field of climate change control and renewable energy. Furthermore, on the 12th of October 2006 The Chamber will officially welcome the new Danish Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s, Mr Birger Riis-Joergensen. During dinner HE the Danish Ambassador and Mr Morten Albaek, responsible for stakeholder relations at Danske Bank, will engage in debate on the challenges and opportunities of globalisation from Denmark’s point of view.
During summer, the DUCC will undergo a change in staff as our consultant Eva Skytte has decided to return to Denmark from the 1st of June 2006 to finish her studies at Copenhagen Business School. In addition, I would like to welcome our new intern, Christian Meyn, who starts with us from Monday the 24th of July 2006. Christian will take over from Helene Tanhøj Pedersen who will finish her six month internship at the DUCC on the 28th of July 2006.
Finally it is my great pleasure to introduce new corporate member, Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, which is a London based law firm with particular expertise in commercial property, insurance and reinsurance. You can read more about Reynolds Porter Chamberlain on page 6.
I look forward very much to seeing you at our future events and I wish you all a pleasant and relaxing summer!
