The Event
The overall goal for the COP 15 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Denmark in December 2009 was to establish a global climate agreement for the period from 2012 when the first commitment period under the Kyoto Protocol expires. However, the agreement which was aimed to be a legally binding contract now seems to be of much more political character.
The agreement will most likely have an impact on the business world, especially as the UK takes a lead in many of the policies regarding Climate Change.
At the event on 22 February we will, with a post COP15 perspective, touch upon the implications for the business world – if any. And we are proud to introduce James Cameron as our speaker and host for this next Women’s Forum.
Speaker:
James Cameron, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Climate Change Capital, is responsible of strategic and sector development and represents the firm at the highest levels of business and government. James is a pre-eminent expert in developing policy responses to climate change.
James has spent much of his legal career working on climate change matters, including negotiating the UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol as an adviser to the Alliance of Small Island States. He is also a member of the board of GE Ecomagination, a member of the Copenhagen Climate Council and a member of the World Economic Forum's Climate Council.
