Nordic Thursday Drinks August 2007

The 30th of August was the evening where the monthly Nordic Thursday Drinks took place.

Vibeke Ulmann - Catalyst Communi-
cations
Susanne Pedersen - Grundberg
Mocatta Rakison LLP
Dr. M. Zachariya-Marikar - The Change
Group

Martin Mortensen - DUCC
This event is a good oportunity to meet people from the Norwegian and Finish Chambers as well as members from DUCC in an informal environment.

Unfortunately the weather still wasn't on our side so the drinks and canapés were served inside. Despite the weather the atmosphere was very good and people were busy exchanging conversation. As a new thing the Radisson SAS started a raffle where there was a bottle of champagne to be won. The lucky winner was Mr. Dan Frisch. The raffle will be a returning event at the future Thursday Drinks.

Guest
Brian Nielsson - HandStep Ltd.
The members who had signed up before hand were offered a free drink and delicious canapés sponsored by the Radisson SAS Portman.

The next Thursday Drinks will be the 27th of September. We look forward to seeing you there.

  News from the Director

Dear Members

The autumn is approaching and we have planned a variety of exciting events, which I am sure will hold your interest.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to postpone our event at SAXO Bank, which were to take place tomorrow, the 13th of September 2007. This event will now take place later in the autumn of 2007.

On the 2nd of October 2007 we have organised “An Evening on Europe” and invited Mrs. Karin Riis-Jorgensen, Member of the European Parliament who will speak about the growing influence of the European Parliament and share with us her views on the interaction between the European organisations and the world of business. This extremely interesting topic will be complemented by the views of Mr. Erik Nielsen Chief European Economist and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Nielsen will specifically cover which areas within the European region that are in the best position to cope and take advantage of globalisation.

The September issue of Nyt fra Danmark is now out and should be working its way to you in the post. Please see page 11 of the UK section for details of the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce.

Finally, I must say it is a great pleasure to see the Chamber enlarge every month thanks to the addition of new and inspiring companies to the organisation. Please welcome new members to the Chamber this month: HandStep and Top Language Jobs  presented in detail on page 5 and 6 respectively.

Best regards,

Martin Mortensen

LGT Bank

The private bank of the Princely House of Liechtenstein

LGT Bank, the private bank of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, was founded in 1920 as Bank in Liechtenstein and is one of the rare family-owned banks and one of the very few private banks to receive an official rating. Consistently high ratings from Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s underline its credit and trustworthiness. According to quality studies conducted externally, LGT Bank is the only bank of the 268 asset managers tested to be awarded an overall “summa cum laude” in the three countries Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Germany.

The aim of private banking at LGT Bank is to devise and implement the best possible tailor-made solution for each client. As a genuine private bank, LGT Bank is the ideal size to do this: it is small enough to provide each client with a truly personal service, yet large enough to reflect a global outlook in its services, products and recommendations. This is what enables the bank to design services that offer the optimal solution to specific needs: from investment advice, through individual wealth management to the family office, in the same way as it does for the Liechtenstein Princely Family. To this end, the focus is always on individual care and attention provided by a personal client advisor. Depending on the client's requirements, the advisor can also draw on the expert knowledge within the LGT network to provide a comprehensive spectrum of banking and trust services.

High ratings and awards
Our clients’ trust is undoubtedly the most important evidence of the quality of LGT Bank.
Further proof comes in the form of acknowledgement from internationally prestigious rating agencies.  LGT Bank is one of the very few private banks to be officially rated. Since 1996, it has consistently received the highest ratings ever awarded to comparable institutions: Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s have given LGT Bank ratings of AA- and Aa3 respectively. Last but not least, in the latest studies of German-speaking wealth managers the private bank of the Princely House of Liechtenstein has once again been included in the very select group of leading financial institutions. According to quality studies conducted externally, LGT Bank is the only bank of the 268 asset managers tested to be awarded an overall “summa cum laude” in the three countries Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Germany.

Local presence
Today, LGT Bank is represented at 29 prime locations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and America. LGT Bank is thus able to provide its clients with a princely service not just at its head office in Vaduz, but also “on their doorstep” so to speak.
