  News from the Director

Dear Members,

Welcome to the summer issue of the DUCC Red Letter.

First, I would like to thank all those of you who attended the DUCC Summer Cocktail Party for your excellent company on the 12th of July 2007. Despite the inclement weather throughout the last month, the sun at least shone throughout this enjoyable evening on Denmark, or at least on the Terrace of the Royal Danish Embassy, which proves that sometimes you can be lucky with the weather in London.

Once again, we are delighted with success of the four traditional annual events and it is extremely pleasing to see how they continue to blossom. The three annual events of the year to date have all been resounding successes, the Annual Dinner, the Easter Evening Buffet and, on this very evening, our Summer Cocktail Party at which 85 members and their guests attended.

The last Annual Event of 2007 is the DUCC Christmas Lunch, which will take place on the 14th of December 2007. It will provide a great opportunity for our members to use this occasion as their internal staff Christmas ‘do’. We expect it to be extremely popular so please ensure to book your places ASAP.

Until then we have a very busy autumn programme starting on the 13th of September with a visit to Saxo Bank at their Canary Wharf offices. Peter Klein, UK Director has invited the Head of Corporate Communications at Saxo Bank Mr. Samuel Rachlin to address members of the Chamber on Global Communication. Peter Klein will also give an introduction on their extremely dynamic and successful organisation.

Please welcome to the Chamber this month our newest members The Change Group and JBBI. The Change Group is a pre-eminent, multi-national, foreign currency exchange organisation looking to expand on both their activities and their seven branches in Denmark. Please see page 6 for details. In addition we also have the pleasure of welcoming JBBI, a successful management consultancy founded by two Danes. Mr. Jan Bowen-Nielsen, one of the founders will be the facilitator at the Chamber-supported Network groups for entrepreneurs and leaders launched by the Danish Trade Council. Please see page 7 for details

Also please welcome our new intern Michaela Horn Simonsen. Michaela took over from Signe at the end of July and will stay with us until February 2008, please see over for more information on Michaela.

Best regards,

Martin Mortensen
