An Evening with Bang & Olufsen

B&O Store Knightsbridge

On the 26th of November 2008 Executive Director of the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce, Martin Mortensen, welcomed members and guests to an evening with Bang & Olufsen - a reception held in the Knightsbridge Bang & Olufsen store.

The evening was hosted by the new managing director of Bang & Olufsen in the UK, Lars FLyvholm, who also made a presentation outlining B&O’s history and current situation. Furthermore he introduced B&O’s brand new BeoSound 5 system, which is the new all digital audio player only launched 2 weeks prior to the event. The system’s design is formed as a stunning aluminium wheel which elegantly intersects with a luscious black LCD screen - instantly recognisable as Bang & Olufsen. Following Lars Flyvholm’s presentation UK product manager Steve Devonshire described all the thinking behind the BeoSound 5 system and went through all the features. Emphasize was put on explaining B&O’s MOTS system - meaning More Of The Same. A unique feature which automatically seeks tracks similar to the ones you choose to form a personal playlist.

Following the presentations everybody had the opportunity for an individual hands-on experience of the BeoSound 5 system and questions could be asked to one of the daily B&O staff, also present on the night. Also hands-on experiences of the rest of the B&O products displayed in the store were a possibility. Champagne and canapés from Scandinavian Kitchen were served throughout the evening which ended at 10pm.
