The restaurant
Madsen is a Scandinavian medium-sized restaurant based in South Kensington, London. The concept is modern Scandinavian cuisine that combines both traditional dishes, as well as more modern style cooking too. The restaurant is run on sustainability principles that involve using local suppliers and the majority of our products being hand made.

Job Role
We are looking for an assistant restaurant manager to help run the restaurant and assist the manager. There is potential to grow within this role and progress further in the near future.
Your role will be both of operational nature, as well as, having responsibilities in the daily administration of the restaurant. You will also be involved in staff planning and training, and in coming up with new marketing and promotional ideas.
You need to have strong sales and marketing skills with a view to help developing our catering arm.

Key Attributes

• Previous training or experience in hospitality on a senior supervisor or assistant manger level with knowledge of Scandinavian cuisine – both modern and traditional
• You are ambitious and you see your professional future as working in restaurants and hotels
• You enjoy running busy shifts, but you are also able to activate yourself at more quiet times
• You are a team player, who leads by example, and who can be both a motivator as well as an instructor
• You have excellent customer skills and you enjoy building relationships with people
• You need to be a good communicator with fluency in written and spoken English. It is an advantage with fluency in a Scandinavian language as well
• You have good level of wine knowledge and an interest in beers
• You enjoy meeting sales targets and you have a drive to find new sales streams

Salary : £20,000-£22,000 annually dependant on qualifications/tips are shared in the team
