Dear Chamber Members and Friends
It is of course an honour to be invited to pen the foreword for the Chamber newsletter this month. 2011 has seen Appointments Bi-Language continue to flourish and as we go into our third decade of operations it is a fantastic opportunity to share with chamber member a brief insight into what it is we have been doing.
After celebrating our twentieth anniversary earlier in the year and having moved into our new corporate HQ on Kingsway, we have spent a great deal of time and effort ensuring that we are best equipped to succeed on the recruitment scene in 2012. It is a far cry from the days of the Rolodex, but our investment in new resources and our dogged pursuit of an effective online presence mean that we are the number one multilingual recruitment consultancy in London in terms of our ability to use social media to attract the best candidates for our clientele. We have also added to our pool of expertise, growing significantly throughout the year by adding new talent to our experienced team of consultants. These improvements have already afforded us some fantastic recommendations, including being named the number one recruitment partner of an influential and renowned American Investment Bank.
Whilst we have recruited for positions in Copenhagen as well as Stockholm and Oslo, we have focussed our growth in London, where there has been an exponential increase in the demand for speakers of Nordic languages. Immense and wide-ranging marketing projects along with expansion into Scandinavia by some of our clients have seen us time and time again seek competent, confident individuals who can further enhance the trading relationship between the UK and our friends across the North Sea, not only with their language skills but with their understanding of the cultural subtleties of each nation.
With only around 20,000 Danish speakers currently in the UK, only 5.6million native speakers globally and similar figures for the other Nordic languages, it is easy to see why it can often be difficult to source successful candidates. Yet it is precisely in the face of this sort of adversity that our flexible, personal and targeted approach sees us succeed, as we regularly supply companies ranging from large multinationals to SMEs with high-calibre Nordic speakers. Our valuable links with businesses and foreign Chambers, including the DUCC, based in London and around the world, along with our global span of candidates mean that we are always on hand to help.
So going forward into 2012 we aim to once again continue to strive for success and use our expertise to ensure that our clients make the best recruitment decisions in the choppy financial seas that this year looks set to return. From all of us here at Appointments Bi-Language, we wish all our friends and fellow members a fantastic start to the New Year and look forward to hearing of your continued successes and hopefully helping to contribute to them.
De bedste ønsker,
Nicole Debson, Appoitments Bi-language
